A Wall Becomes a Canvas

As I walked through an area in North Denver on Tennyson Street, I was pleasantly surprised with the murals on the brick walls of some of the buildings. I had not been in the area for many years and was amazed at the cute boutiques, tea store, restaurants and the Cesar Chavez park. A bronze bust of Chavez sculpted by Emanuel Martinez is at the entrance to the park.

The murals are colorful, creative, tasteful and downright beautiful!

Where Carter's Dance Studio used to be, and I spent many hours learning dance steps, is now a restaurant and all the customers seemed to be in their twenties. Bob Dylan's lyrics came to mind as I looked around the area, the times they are a changin'!

  1. Love the murals, but DO NOT like the big ugly 4 story boxes that are being built after knocking down a house that has been there for many years. The times and the character of the area they are a changin!!
