In the middle of old town Arvada, sits a older home with a low fence around the yard and the aroma of coffee in the air. The non-profit organization is "
To promote community, sacrifice, compassion, empowerment, enough money to do this work and just great times, GRI created Global Thrift and Global Goods & Coffee. Both of these venues are volunteer-driven so that profits can go to providing support to families in need around the world." (Taken from information card of Global Goods and Coffee Shop.)

Not only do they have locally roasted coffee but the pastries/pies/quiche/food are prepared daily. There are interesting and colorful artifacts for sale and they all seemed to have come from Africa.
The house has cozy areas to sit and enjoy the coffee or the food or both! The upstairs room has a large table for meetings, couches with matching chairs, tables and wi-fi.
Since we met to have coffee on Halloween, I was not surprised to be greeted by a witch in orange and black as I left the Global + Refuge at 5613 Olde Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada. Maybe the costumed group was beginning trick and treating early!
