In order to accommodate the parishioners who would be saying good bye to Father, tables were set outside and indoors also. Father stood and shook hands and hugged person after person as they came down the reception line. After greeting Father, every one could enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers and chips.
The youngest babies saying good bye to Father were eight weeks old while the oldest was a friend around ninety-three years old.
The Knights of Columbus in their red aprons hustled around making sure people got their food, trash was picked up, grilling the food, and bringing drinks to the tables.
For dessert there were two large cakes and a giant cake Each cake had pictures of Father life during his service at SOC. The cake was sliced and the line to get the cake seemed to go on forever!
People were all over Spirit of Christ; inside and outside. A sad and happy affair!
Wishing you an easy transition
as you head to a different parish.
I am sure we will see you again
in the near future.
Vaya con Dios!
