A Screaming Monkey

We started out to the Golden Corral but when we saw The Texas Roadhouse the two meat eaters thought that would be a better place for lunch.  The hot dinner rolls with whipped butter started off our lunch. And of course, those peanuts in the buckets were tempting. The meat eaters ordered steaks and I had roasted chicken. For dessert we shared a strawberry cheese cake. My son, my granddaughter and I spent a few hours enjoying our food and reminiscing about fun things we used to do.

Taking pictures was fun but my granddaughter made me promise I would not put the pictures on Facebook. "Okay," I said, "I will only use them in my blog." She agreed I could put her picture in my blog but she did not want to see herself on Facebook!

After eating we ended up in the parking lot with her Screaming Monkey Slingshot; a gift from her father so she could have some silly fun. The brown monkey had an orange cape and as he was shot into the air he gave a loud, shrill scream. The scream of the monkey had us all laughing as he flew into the air, screaming until he landed on the pavement with a soft plop.

I realized that we are never too old to have fun!
