Ideas For a Mystery Novel

A wealthy man in the United States, though not a politician, decides to run for president. He is liked by some but he will have a big battle to win the majority of the population in the United States. How can he accomplish his endeavor of becoming president of the United States? He gathers many who think like he does and it is decided that his best bet will be to speak on immigration. He gives speeches denouncing the immigrants coming across the border and calls them criminals, thieves, dope addicts, rapists and drug traffickers.

Then, not using one of his private jets, he takes a secret trip to a Mexican town and meets with some Mexican politicians and law enforcement officers. When he leaves the meeting he has a smile on his face. His thought is, who says money doesn't talk!

Two days later, the headlines of the Mexican newspapers report that the biggest cartel kingpin has escaped from prison. Somehow, unnoticed he had been able to dig a tunnel over a mile long and he did this without any detection from anyone. The hunt begins but the question is who will talk, who will say what happened,
or who helped in the escape?

The latest news, in all the newspapers, is that he is headed to the United States. The man running for president holds a press conference and the gist of his talk is, "See, I told you so!"

The story has so many possibilities. Like an honest detective who tracks down leads to find the culprits. A Mexican police force who is determined to find the escapee and eventually captures him.  A decision of the kingpin to turn over much of his money to make Mexico a crime free country. Maybe throw in a love affair. Etc. Etc. Etc.

OR

After a great escape from the Mexican prison, the Kingpin had one thought in mind. He would get that man running for president and teach him a lesson for saying bad things about Mexican people. Somewhere in his heart, he hated what he had done to his country by supporting drug cartels and he felt this was one way he could even the score!

OR

The wealthy business man becomes president and with his many dollars he pays off debts the country owes, convinces the world that peace is better than war, helps third world countries, stabilizes the financial world and every one lives happily ever after! His last thoughts as he sits behind the desk in the oval office is  the saying of, it is better to give than to receive!

  1. Well, I certainly hope that the idea of the wealthy business man becoming president is a FAIRY TALE! To be honest I think I like plot of the Drug Lord teaching the business man a lesson and evening the score--If that wealthy business man makes it to the oval office, I will head to Mexico!
